Mountain bike to Bmx

So I have a 50cm Magna mountain bike and I'm turning it into a bmx bike. I know it's a big job, but I'm up for it. I have $200 saved up for it. I've never done this before so I'm just guessing what I need to change.First I'm buying new handle bars, headset/stem and fork. I'm removing the front brakes, gears and suspension. I was thinking taking it all apart then giving it the paint job then putting it back together I'm also buying new grips and brake cables, just because I need new ones What do you think? Anything else I need to buy? I was thinking about getting that thing which makes you be able to ride backwards (Reverse Freewheel?) Oh and any ideas of what type of paint or spray paint to use for the paint job? Do you find this valuable?
