The Mod Squad is currently dealing with a crisis right now. Contributions. We need this site to generate more traffic [get popular with more people] in order to stay up on the Wetpaint 500.I've got some ideas, but I'll start with the positive. + Create YouTube videos every time a new Featured Author or Track is picked and post it where the pics go. This sounds fun because you're having someone with great skill pass the track and show off it's design instead of having a pic showing just one segment. + Re-write the "How to add your tracks" page. It is true that we are the #1 source for stolen tracks. People are relying on an open-based system to post their tracks containing codes. I would preferably add delete ALL tracks [keep the codes though] post them in a database [FR2DB or RFSHQ] and create links on tracks pages to be re-directed to the database. This is an ongoing example with Svinepels and Milkshake. If you take a good look at their Track pages, you will see not ONE code, but a neat, organized page with links to their tracks. This will prevent others from stealing our tracks and will put an ultimate end to the situation. + Select two more mods. This is already being discussed by the Mod Squad. The whole concept behind picking two more mods is to have more additional support and bring up a little more communication and fun between people and content. It will be great - NO! Not great. AWESOME to have those two positions filled up with two willing users. Yes, I did so, but I also have the codes on this page http://www.freerider-tracks.com/page/Svinepels+Track+CodesBut hey, freerider-tracks.com shouldn't be dependent on other track sharing sites, should it? I think the posting as it is today is ok, when I found out about the stealing on FR2DB I got easily out of it and the copies were deleted. And know that you need an account to post tracks to FR2DB the thieves can be punished properly! >:) Do you find this valuable? |

It's not like anyone is going to steal a track by an author who isn't very good and knowone has heard of is it ? Do you find this valuable? |

I've noticed something around the site...There are allot of new members on this site who don't know how to add tracks and so on. Maybe it would be good idea to make the instructions more noticeable on the homepage. Do you find this valuable? |

I think it's okay to post your tracks to FR2DB and link them to your pages here. This just adds to the user-friendliness (no copy-pasting the code and scrolling trough laggy pages full of track codes). You've got to admit that FR2DB is pretty quick and easy to use. I now have added my tracks to FR2DB, but I still mainly hang out in this site. FR2DB links are easy to read through and look better than loads of text. And no more track stealing. But still, the code system is okay too, since it is easier for new users. And it feels pretty familiar and reliable :D Do you find this valuable? |

I have nothing against posting links to other sites instead of codes, it wouldn't bother me if everyone did it, but the "official" way of sharing tracks on this site is by giving away codes, not going to other sites again just to share the links.Therefore, I vote no for changing the "how to add your tracks" page. Do you find this valuable? |

Ok. I didn't read the thread before posting. By bad.But the point was: we shouldn't change anything, but rather let new users know about alternativities like FR2DB. It is more convenient but there's no real reason why we should absolutely rid of all the codes. The only problem with the codes is that they take up too much room. The system @ the easy tracks page is great, easy to use and not too laggy. That just gave me a brilliant idea. If you choose me as a new mod, I'll first make similar pages for most or all the pages. That is the most user-friendly solution avaible and only requires a bit of work from the mods. Do you find this valuable? |
