Tips and Tricks for Playing Free Rider

General Tips

  • Do not accelerate at full speed until you know what is ahead. This could lead to over-jumping or hitting walls.
  • If you want to highlight the code quicker,
    triple click it and it should highlight its self.
  • While going down an angle, or up it even, you will want to lean forward until you come to the ramp at the end, there almost always is one.

Jumps

  • Lean back a bit before the jump to go a higher elevation.
  • Lean back until the tip of a jump but before you go off, lean forward to gain the most distance.
  • Beware! Upon completing a jump, whichever wheel hits the ground first will bounce up and you may end up doing a wheelie.
  • (not too far ten jou fal)

Tricks

  • Do not accelerate during a wheelie, you will spin out.
  • Nose manuals are a great trick, but do not brake or you will fall forward (similar to above).
  • Only attempt as many flips as you think you can complete.
  • If you want to accelerate more than normal, use Curvemaker to create a webbed curve with a large amount of lines. You accelerate based on the number of lines, therefore, the greater amount of lines, the faster the rate of acceleration.
  • Watch out for Bumps that they may put in they might knock you off you course.


Important Note For CurveMaker:The download link provided is for Windows XP. If you have Vista, you will need to download CurveMaker Vista. Any other OS will not run CurveMaker (this includes Linux, MacOS, and any Unix systems).

After you download and run CurveMaker, be sure to check out the manual by pressing F1.
