MUSIC Since I honor the copyright laws, here's a playlist I've collected from a Finnish musician site, Mikseri (translated means: mixer). It's a place where starting bands put their demo tracks to get publicity. But some big names, like myGRAIN have some of their songs in there too. You can find some pretty good underground-bands there, but unfortunately for you, most of the the lyrics are in Finnish, so you'll often miss the great and often humorous lyrics. Mikseri Herska's band 1 - Lahjattomat nakkisormet  Even my own band has one song there (it's on the playlist) , even though the band broke right after our first gig, after no one cared about practising anymore because everyone loved us already. We recorded one of our songs from our first and last gig with a videocamera, but we ran out of film just before our hit song Jussi - Apinain kuningas (Jussi - the king of the apes). So, all we have on tape is an annoying "love song" that we all hated, Epätoivoisen uroksen laulu vaativalle naaraalle (The Desperate Male's Song For The Demanding Female). Our band was called Lahjattomat Nakkisormet (Direct translation means: Untalented wienerfingers). I played the guitar. Herska's current project - Byrdee  I'm currently making music with an old friend of mine. I play the guitars, our lame-ass percussions (soda cans) and sing and Elmo plays the organ, the percussions and sings. We don't have a drummer, but we have a guy to be a featuring artist in our songs. He plays the drums. We're writing songs mostly in English. We'll add our songs to Mikseri when they are ready. We were formerly known as Herska & Elmo Duet, but we changed our name to Byrdee, becouse Herska & Elmo Duet sounded too much like commercial soloartist music. Byrdee suits us much better. Herska's band 2 - MielenterveysAsema  Mielenterveysasema is a punk-rock band that plays actually several styles of music. We write songs about things in our everyday lofe that piss us off. Very aggressive but somewhat humoric lyrics. No recorded stuff yet.
